LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A female in her mid 20's is in critical condition after a shooting Monday morning. The woman's brother, 20-year-old Jules Snead, was arrested and charged with assault in the first degree.
According to neighbors, the siblings lived in the house with their mom.
Police responded to the reported shooting around 8 a.m. Monday in the 10000 block of Trotter Trace off of Beulah Church.
Eric Stencel, who lives near the shooting scene, said, "we really didn't know what to think this morning. It was police car after police car after police car."
Neighbors tell WHAS11 this is not the first time police have responded to this house for gunshots.
Stencel said a stray bullet came from the house a few years ago and hit his house.
"That's how we knew there was gunfire last time...police had to take it out."
Kathleen Lam lives two houses over from the shooting and said police had been out to the house not long ago, and today she woke up to an alarming scene.
"All I know is I woke up and I seen like five or six police cars parked in front of my house...crime tape was everywhere," Lam said.
The injured woman was driven to Suburban Hospital by a family member. Hospital workers there called the St. Matthews Police, who then turned the investigation over to LMPD. The woman was transferred to University Hospital because of her life threatening injuries.
The LMPD Homicide is handling the investigation.
