LOUISVILLE, Ky -- A Louisville woman accused of driving under the influence of marijuana is facing additional charges after police found a 2-year-old child in an unsecured safety seat.
Police said they pulled over Brittany Ford early Wednesday morning on Interstate 264 near the airport for driving with one headlight and expired tags. Police reported a strong smell of marijuana coming from the car and Ford gave the officer a small marijuana cigarette. She reportedly admitted to smoking marijuana 90 minutes before the traffic stop.
A 2-year-old child in the back seat was improperly restrained in the car, but was in a safety seat, police said.
Police say she failed multiple field sobriety tests.
Brittany Ford is charged with DUI, possession of marijuana and failure to use child restraint device.
