LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – At around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, a Sixth Division Louisville Metro Police officer stopped a car at Taylorsville Road and Hurstbourne Lane in front of the Old Chicago Restaurant.

According to police, when the officer approached the car he heard banging coming from the trunk. The officer called for backup and discovered a man who had been bound and gagged in the truck of the car.

Police told The Courier-Journal the man was working at a gas station when the abduction happened.

Police said two of the three people in the car overpowered the man at the Shell gas station in the 14000 block of Taylorsville Road, bound and gagged him and forced him into the trunk of the car.

Police have charged and arrested three people, Brittany L. Elder, 28, Trent Blye, 27, and Joseph Davis, 28, with kidnapping, wanton endangerment and theft by unlawful taking of an automobile.

The victim who has not been identified was taken by ambulance to Louisville’s University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
