Floyds Knobs, Ind. (WHAS)--Texting, police said, is what cause a 17-year-old to lose control of his vehicle and crash into a Floyds Knobs, Ind. home Monday.

The accident happened just before 3 p.m. when the teen driver and his 14-year-old half sister were traveling east on Old Vincennes Road.  Police said the teen was traveling to fast and was texting, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.

The out of control car traveled nearly 80 yards before crashing into Victoria Bezy's home.

"I just heard what sounded like an explosion and I opened up the door and the car was laying between the bushes and the house. It was smoking so I thought I better get out of here now," Bezy said.

Both teens were treated at the scene an released to their parents.
