LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville woman was taken in to custody over the weekend after a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Police issued a warrant for 25-year-old Kenyatta Lewis after allegations surfaced that she beat her 3-year-old.
According to the warrant, daycare workers notified a hospital of the victim's injuries and the hospital contacted CACU.
Police said after her arrest Lewis admitted to a detective she had hit the child on "numerous occasions, causing injuries." Lewis bit, hit and slapped the child with objects and her hands, police said, causing bruising to the child's face, buttocks and right thigh.
Lewis is charged with 3rd degree criminal abuse.
