(WHAS11) -- A missing Jeffersontown teenager returned home Tuesday night after she went missing six days ago.

Her grandmother says 16-year-old Annie Simamora is crying and hugging her family but has not revealed the exact circumstances of why and how she ran away.

With her 3-year-old daughter in her lap Theresa Simamora and the girl's grandmother made a cry for help to locate her missing child, Annie Simamora, earlier Tuesday afternoon.

Police believe the girl ran away from her Jeffersontown home Wednesday and never walked to her school bus stop blocks away.

The teen disappeared six days ago and never showed up at Atherton High School last week.

Police think she may have been with a stranger she met on the Internet or another teenager. They don't expect foul play. Detectives looked at her cell phone records to track text messages.

They even contacted Butler Police in Pennsylvania on a tip she may be there with a man but that wasn't true.

Detectives say she is a good student who made short films as a hobby on YouTube. She had no car or money and her Facebook account and cell phone had been cut off.

"I feel like I'm in a dream, a bad dream rather a nightmare. I feel like this isn't even happening. I don't feel like this is real," Theresa Simamora said earlier on Tuesday.

That nightmare is over and though Simamora has been quiet about what happened, their family is overjoyed she is home unharmed.

Detectives are continuing their investigation into her disappearance and safe return.
