LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Police arrested a Louisville man after they say he ran from an officer during a field sobriety test.
Brad Scherzinger, 29, was pulled over for speeding 15 miles over the limit, according to a police report. The report Scherzinger failed a verbal sobriety test. Scherzinger blew a .165 during a breathalyzer test.
The officer then placed Scherzinger in handcuffs, according to the report. While hold Scherzinger the officer reached for his coat and Scherzinger took off running across US 42 into the woods still handcuffed.
The reports says the officer took off after Scherzinger but had to go back to tend to the intoxicated passenger in the car. The passenger was picked up by a relative and the car was impounded.
Scherzinger had three prior DUI convictions. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, second degree escape and speeding.
