(WHAS11) - The Floyd County Indiana Sheriff says his deputies have charged two of the top prescription pill dealers in the area.
They were arrested Thursday on Spring Street in New Albany. The arrests are the result of a several month investigation. Floyd County Sheriff Darryl Mills says Richard Sceifers and Stephen Nally were the two main suppliers for the prescription pain killer Opana.
Opana has been the driving force for crime in Floyd County in recent months. Abusers are linked to 80 percent of home break-ins. Police say the abusers try and get whatever they can to sell so they can buy Opana.
The painkiller is a much stronger narcotic that sometimes has a deadly consequence. It's been linked to several overdose deaths.
