Louisville, Ky. (WHAS) – Church services were held as usual at the Harvest Church of God in Pleasure Ridge Park Sunday despite thousands of dollars worth of damage was done to the church by vandals.

Pastor Adron Wheat says late Thursday night two juveniles broke in and trashed their offices, sanctuary and foyer.

Equipment, glass and computers were broken, doors busted in and vulgar graffiti left on a painting of the Last Supper.

“Well first I got a little bit sick. I mean actually nauseated at what I’d found and everything that morning,” Wheat said. “Because man it looked like everything was destroyed.”

Pastor Wheat says his brand new computer and the safe from the finance office were both stolen.

He also says most of the damage seemed to be about mischief such as knocking over random things.

“Many things go through my mind, but I guess the number one thing is why. You know, what did you get out of trashing out the house of God,” Wheat said.

Two juveniles have been arrested for the crime.

Pastor Wheat says while it’s difficult, he and his congregation are praying for the vandals.
