LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Humane Society of the United States is offering a $5,000 reward for information pertaining to an injured pit bull found tied to a pole.

Officials say a pit bull, who they have named Frodo, was found tied to a pole with duct tape around its muzzle in the 2600 block of W. Kentucky Street Tuesday morning.

Frodo was suffering from malnutrition and other injuries. He will have to have a rear leg amputated.

Due to the severity of his injuries, LMAS requested the assistance of The Arrow Fund, a local humane organization specializing in rehabilitating victims of animal cruelty, to provide the specialized veterinary care this dog required.

The Humane Society of the United States asked anyone with information to call 502-363-6609 or click here.
