LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Opening statements are underway in the trial of a man charged with killing a woman in the middle of a Louisville park in broad daylight.
Steven Pettway is charged in the 2009 murder of Troya Sheckles.
Sheckles was supposed to testify in the murder trial of Lloyd Hammond but was killed before she could testify in the case.
Pettway is accused of killing her along with Hammond's brother DeJuan.
DeJuan Hammond's trial is set for June.
