LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Kentucky senator Rand Paul is leading in a new poll among possible 2016 Republican presidential candidates.

The poll, conducted by the Democratic firm Public Policy Polling, shows that Paul is the favorite with 16 percent.

Tied at 13 percent are former Florida governor Jeb Bush, New Jersey governor Chris Christie and former vice president nominee and Wisconsin senator Paul Ryan.

12 percent prefer Ted Cruz while 10 percent say they’d like to see Marco Rubio in the White House.

Whoever becomes the republican presidential candidate for president may face off against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

She’s currently leading in the democratic field with 40 points against possible challengers.
