Oldham County authorities are investigating a fatal crash that happened around 8:15 Tuesday night.
Police said a Lexus was traveling north on Cedar Point road when the driver apparently lost control, the car left the roadway and hit a tree.
Two people were trapped inside the car and had to be pulled out by emergency crews.
The driver, 20-year-old Devon Willingham of LaGrange was taken to Baptist Northeast Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The passenger, 19-year-old Timothy Shain of Buckner, was taken to University Hospital and is reported to have serious injuries.
