LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) - - Less than a month after 12 people were killed during the midnight showing of the new Batman movie an Ohio man is now facing charges for bringing weapons to the movie theater.
Police in Westlake, Ohio say that a theater manager was suspicious of Scott Smith, 37, and the bag he was carrying when he went into the theater Saturday for the 10 p.m. showing of The Dark Knight Rises.
An off-duty police officer working security searched the bag and found a loaded handgun, two loaded magazines and three knives.
A fourth knife was found under smith's clothes.
He was arrested without incident. Smith is due in court Wednesday.
