(WHAS11) - There is new information about the Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer.
The Kentucky native received the award from the president recently but now a newspaper is questioning if some of the information about his rescue and recovery mission were exaggerated.
In 2009, Meyer is said to have saved 13 fellow marines, 24 Afghans and retrieved the body of four dead Americans while in combat in Afghanistan.
McClatchy newspapers say they found discrepancies in the stories.
The Marine Corps says they stand by their official documents about the events.
