(WHAS11) - Multiple newspapers are reporting Shepherdsville residents will face a 60% sewer rate hike. That means the minimum sewer charge would go up from $12.77 to $21.15.
Several residents spoke up against the rate hike during a special meeting held Thursday night.
The city council says the rate hike will keep the sewer plant operational and it will allow them to avoid default on $2.3 million in debt payments.
