LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- People from the Newburg and Buechel neighborhoods are protesting MSD's plan to build a 40 acre sewage basin in their area.
The site is located around Jennings Lane, Produce Road and Poplar Level Road. The protesters say they want a meeting with the mayor and MSD to talk about plans for the basin that will work for their community.
They are concerned that an open basin will cause odors, more mosquitoes and hurt their quality of life. Organizers say they've done their research and want an enclosed facility with odor control.
