(WHAS11) - WHAS11 News has learned new information about a statement made by one of the double murder suspects and the bags of evidence that were recovered.
Fear of retaliation prompted Laquita Townsend to turn herself into authorities.
That's what local advocate Christopher 2X says.
She came to him and wanted to turn herself into authorities before any of her family members were hurt.
Police say Laquita Townsend took her son to Tipsy Circle to provoke a fight.
Authorities say Townsend brought two other men with her and that run-in ended with Diana Wood and Steve Wood being killed.
Police say one of the men she brought with her is Marcus Greene.
Tuesday police removed bags of evidence from his home.
Police would only say its evidence and wouldn't comment about exactly what was found.
Police say right now this case does not appear to be tied to any sort of gang activity but they are investigating all avenues in this case.
