NEW ALBANY, Ind. (WHAS11) --– WHAS11 is learning more about the mother and her two children found in a creek in Southern Indiana. The coroner released the identities of the victims found Wednesday in Binford Park.

Mike and Jaime Clutter had just moved to with their two kids, 10-year-old Brandon and 6-month-old Kaitlyn, from the Seattle, Wash. area to New Albany. According to their pastor at Greater Faith Church, J. Todd Nichols, Mike’s family lives in Portland, Ind..

“He had been out of work for a couple years and got a job here, a very good job and they were kind of getting back on their feet and things were going great for them,” Nichols said.

Nichols described the couple as very docile and kind and their son Brandon, wise beyond his years.

“Precious boy, very smart, very intelligent. He was very captivating. Everybody loved Brandon. He was kind of the 10-year-old going on 25,” Nichols explained.

Their loving nature made it even more shocking when Jaime and her two children were found dead in Falling Run Creek in Binford Park near their apartment. Walkers in the park spotted the bodies.

“We are devastated,” Nichols said. “It’s probably, without question, the most traumatic event that’s happened at this church for sure and probably in my lifetime.”

Police shut down the park, combed for clues, towed a maroon car away from the scene. But, they seem no closer to exposing how a mother and her two children could come to such a horrific end.

“When you think of bad things happening to people,” Nichols said. “They’re going to be way down there, if they even make the list.”

Nichols said Mike and Jaime had been married for 12 and a half years. The cause of death for 35-year-old Jaime and her children has not been released.
