LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Good news about the victim of a fatal house fire in New Albany.

Five-year-old Tatyana Hughes should be off a ventilator in the next few days.

She had some recent complications, but on Wednesday, her family said she was doing much better and her surgeries have gone well.

She is being treated at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis since the fire in January for her burns.

Police said 18-year-old Cody Cashion fired a flare into the Ealy Street house where Hughes and her siblings were sleeping.

Hughes' sisters and brother were killed in the fire and cashion has been charged with murder.

Donations to help Hughes are being accepted at Fifth-Third Banks and online at GoFundMe.com under Theresa's Angels.
