LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)-- The person responsible for alerting authorities that a New Albany house was burning recently spoke with WHAS11 and said there was nothing she could do to save the lives of the 3 children that died during the blaze.
The young victims were siblings. They have been identified as Trinity Hughes, 2, Tyrese Hughes, 4, and Taysha Hughes, 6. One more sibling, Tatyana Hughes, 5, is in a medically induced coma at an Indianapolis Hospital and is expected to undergo surgery tomorrow.
Officials said a space heater is the likely cause of the blaze that left a fourth child in the hospital.
