LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Attorneys have dismissed the double-murder case against a Louisville man who was found dead in his jail cell last month.
Mahmoud Hindi had been awaiting trial for the deaths of David Merritt and Marvin Fisher after a shooting last September at a homeowner's association meeting at Springdale community church.
Two weeks ago, Hindi was found hanging from a bed sheet in his jail cell at Metro Corrections.
Jail officials reported it was a suicide.
Lawyers on both sides of the case said because of Hindi’s death, they cannot continue to prosecute him for the murders.
