LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A day after a former police recruit was found guilty of raping and sodomizing an unconscious college student, the mother of the victim is speaking only to WHAS11.
The mother told WHAS11 her daughter would never be able to feel safe until her attacker, someone she once considered a friend, was off the streets. The mother is hoping this encourages other rape victims to seek justice and feel what she did after that guilty verdict.
She also wanted to say how grateful she is to the Commonwealth Attorney's Office, LMPD sex crimes detectives and everyone who supported her daughter.
