(WHAS11) -- We are getting new insight into what may have led to the shooting and death of a Louisville man. Christopher Jones was dropped off at the emergency room at Kosair where he died. The two people who dropped him off didn't stick around to explain what happened.
All the unanswered questions are agony for the victim's mother. This is the second time Christopher Jones’ mother, Bonnie Jones, has suffered a major loss recently, and she's struggling to find something to hold onto for comfort.
Bonnie Jones has been listening to saved voice messages over and over since this weekend when she learned she'd never hear her son's voice in person ever again.
“I don't know if I’ll be able to make it through it, I really don't,” Bonnie Jones, said.
Early Saturday morning she was awakened with the news her only son, Christopher Jones, better known as Buddy had been shot. She soon learned two of his friends had dropped the 25-year-old off at Kosair Children's Hospital with a gunshot wound to the heart and fled.
Bonnie remembers her son as friendly and generous. She and her family, including Buddy's three sisters are now struggling not just with their grief, but the uncertainty of not knowing what happened to him...
“However he got shot, accident, on purpose…however it happened. Just want the truth,” Bonnie Jones said.
But also with having lost a young loved one for the second time in six months.
We first met Bonnie in September of 2012 when she was grieving for Dillon, her newborn grandson, who at just 1-week-old died of a heart condition. The family had captured his first moments on their iPad.
But someone stole the iPad from the hospital waiting room as the grief stricken family waited for news of whether Dillon would live or die.
“It's just memories, and that's all we have of him,” Bonnie Jones said.
And now beside the hole in her heart for baby Dillon, Bonnie has one for Christopher. A wound she feels will never heal until she knows exactly what happened to her son and why.
Police said they have interviewed people in connection with Buddy's death. At this point no one is arrested and police haven't said they're looking for suspects. The family is planning a benefit for Buddy.
