LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The suspected drunk driver who police said ran a stop sign and crashed into a van, killing a 5-month-old girl, made his first appearance in court.
James O'Bannon faces several charges, including murder and DUI.
That crash on Friday, March 14, at 18th and Cedar claimed the life of 5-month-old Avani Ingram and injured her twin sister La'Niya.
According to witnesses, the twins’ car seats were thrown from the minivan they were in, and several neighbors performed CPR on one of the children until EMS arrived.
La'Niya is now listed in good condition at Kosair Children's Hospital.

A prosecutor spoke about his past alcohol related incidents on Monday and said, “Mr. O'Bannon, the last judge that was here said, 'If you don't stop drinking you're going to kill somebody.' Guess what?"
O’Bannon is being held on $750,000 full cash bond.
