LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A Louisville mother is facing charges after police say she was involved in a hit and run accident with her children in the car.
30-year-old April Hoover was arrested Monday afternoon.
Police say she had rear-ended another vehicle and then drove off so she could drop off her two and 5-year-old children at day care.
The man whose car was hit followed her to the day care and police were called a short time later with Hoover returning.
She told the officer she left because she’s on a felony diversion program and has an outstanding warrant for having no insurance.
Hoover is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and having no registration plates.
Hoover’s plates expired in October.
