Metro Council passes budget

(WHAS 11)--Louisville's Metro Council has unanimously approved the mayor's proposed budget for the 2013 and 2014 fiscal year.

It calls for millions of dollars in improving roadways and money to help struggling communities.

The Lane Corridor Project is also getting more than a million dollars in funding and it would open up thousands of acres of land for job development

The budget will go to Mayor Greg Fischer for his signature and will go into effect July first.
