LOUISVILLE, Ky. (NEWS RELEASE) -- Metro Police received a report of an injury collision on I-64 WB, near 9th Street, around 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 12 that sent one man to the hospital in critical condition.
A preliminary investigation by Traffic Officers indicates that a white male in his thirties was standing beside a stopped vehicle, a Ford F150, attempting to put gas in it.
At some point the man was struck by the driver of a newer model gray Kia Sorrento. The driver failed to stop and left the scene.
Officers say the Sorrento sustained minor damage to the right side, where the side view mirror is missing. Anyone with information on the Sorrento or the collision is asked to call the Crimetip Hotline at 574-LMPD (5673).
