Metro Government buildings participate in 'Earth Hour'

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Metro Hall went dark Saturday evening to take part in the World Wildlife Fund’s Earth Hour.

The event is described as a global demonstration where participants can show their commitment to sustainability by turning off their lights for a full hour.

Louisville’s City Hall and the Capitol campus in Frankfort also took part in the event.

More than 7,000 cities and towns on all 7 continents switched their lights off for Earth Hour.
