(WHAS11) -- A final vote is expected Tuesday on controversial proposed changes to the landmarks ordinance in Louisville.

The Louisville Metro Council's planning and zoning commission has been weighing the issue. A change would require any landmark designation to be approved by the metro council instead of relying on the landmarks commission.

Those against it say the council would take politics into consideration when designating which areas should be landmarks.
