LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – There was no vote tonight from the Metro Council on a controversial liquor ordinance that would have stopped liquor sales in some neighborhoods after 2 a.m.

Council members on Sept. 12 voted to add beer to the ordinance, along with hard liquor.  So that means the proposal is going back to the public safety committee for consideration.

Thirty-five local stores have a special license allowing them to sell until 4 a.m. most are in West Louisville.
