LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Two Kentucky men are facing charges after they led police on a chase on Interstate 64 Friday night.

According to a news release from the Kentucky State Police, a trooper stopped to check on a car on I-64 in Shelby County. The driver, later identified as 58-year-old Brian Haddix, of Taylorsville advised the officer everything was fine and quickly drove off. The trooper then returned to his car and noticed the men in that car left alcohol containers on the side of the road and the trooper then went to initiate a traffic stop, which led Haddix to flee.

Police say that while eluding that trooper, the car passed a truck and lost control on I-64 due to snow covered roads, causing him to hit the median. Haddix continued driving and struck a patrol car, causing minor damage.

Both Brian Haddix and his passenger, 55-year-old John Haddix, of Pineridge, were eventually arrested after more troopers arrived on scene.

Both are facing multiple drug and alcohol charges.
