The law went into effect Thursday, but without many of its provisions, such as requiring officers to check a person's immigration status while enforcing other laws.
On Wednesday, a judge put a hold on one of the most controversial parts of the law. It would require that immigrants to carry their papers.
Thursday’s protest in Louisville was called “Show Me Your Papers.”
Attica Scott is the Coordinator for Kentucky Jobs with Justice.
