LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)—The man known affectionately as the ‘Mayor of West Louisville’ has helped restart a west end tradition.
Neal Robertson has revived the “Dirt Bowl” in west Louisville. It is a basketball tournament in Shawnee Park that began back in the 70s and had many players over the years, including some in college and the pros.
The tournament ended for some years because of crimes and violence in the area, but Robertson has brought it back.
He is said to rally residents together to start a new era for west Louisville. He also organizes monthly cemetery cleanups.
