Jefferson County Public Schools consulted with the National Weather Service around 10:15 a.m. and made the decision to dismiss early. Several other districts, announced an early dismissal from school Tuesday as well.

LG&E said they are monitoring the weather conditions. They are urging customers to report any downed power lines by calling 502-589-1444. They also say customers should gather batteries and flashlights for a preparedness kit if they don't already have one in case of power outages.

The Kentucky Department of Transportation is working to pretreat the roads and deliver salt to counties that may have low amounts of it left.
