(WHAS11) -- The NBA team Louisville basketball fan's have been watching as a potential for Louisville is likely headed to Seattle, Wa.
Today Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer spoke out about the move, and said he wasn't worried that the Sacramento Kings will be moved elsewhere.
"The city's position is we want to be in a position to compete for an NBA team if one becomes available that is a good fit for our city. We are not actively working on any specific team right now," Mayor Fischer said Thursday to WHAS11 News.
Mayor Fischer said the city is doing an economic analysis right now to see if an NBA team would be a good business decision for Louisville. That should be finished by March.
Fischer says it could take years to find an NBA team that's a good fit for the city, but if and when that happens, he says he wants the city to be prepared.
