LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer is throwing his support behind a candidate for Metro Council.
“I’m extremely happy to endorse Bill Hollander for Metro Council District 9,” he said.
Hollander has worked as a community activist in the Crescent Hill neighborhood, serving as president of the Crescent Hill Community Council.
Fischer says he’s known Hollander for several years and feels he’s a leader who understands the issues most important to residents in District 9.
“We need to work on healthy citizens by having more bike lanes and bike paths and better parks and more opportunities for exercise. We have those needs in this area and across the city,” Hollander said.
Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh currently serves on the council for District 9 but has said she will retire after her term ends in December.
