LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A severe beating over the weekend is now a homicide. Mickel Kimbley was found beaten Saturday night in Louisville’s Portland neighborhood. He was being kept alive so his family could donate his organs. Just hours after letting her son go Erica Grady talked to WHAS11 about his son’s character.

The suspect was seen fleeing the scene, Kimbley's mother just wants to know who did this

“Bring yourself forward and I want you to be able to forgive yourself and be able to learn you don’t have to do what you did to my son because he did not deserve the crucial beating that was done to him,” said Eric Grady.

Grady is a nurse who says that helped her prepare for this tragedy.

“If God hadn’t directed my path in the job that I’m doing now I probably would be worser off, so I think I know how to deal with it more on a personal level.”

Kimbley leaves behind a large family, a new baby and a brother who always looked up to him.

Police have not made any arrests yet in this case. They do not know the motive for the beating.
