HARDIN CO., Ky. (WHAS11) – One week after a Hardin County teenager was killed in a crash her brother is critically injured in an ATV crash with a deer.
Brice Taylor, 20, is recovering at University of Louisville Hospital and is in critical condition.
Last week his sister Brianna Taylor was involved in a crash that sent four people to the hospital. Brianna died from her injuries.
On Monday at 12:34 a.m., 20-year-old David Brice Taylor was operating his 2009 Honda Rubicon heading eastbound when he struck a deer that was crossing the roadway, according to KSP.
The impact caused Brice Taylor to lose control of the ATV and led to Taylor being ejected, police said. The ATV overturned and landed in a ditch on the north side of the roadway.
Police believe Brice Taylor was not wearing a helmet.
The loss of Brianna Taylor can be felt and seen all around the Valley Creek Baptist Church. A left-behind floral arrangement sits where 17-year-old Brianna Taylor was eulogized a few nights ago.
Just days ago, it was his sister Brianna Taylor who lay in a hospital bed. Brianna was struck last Sunday, June 22, on Patriot Parkway and Deckard School Road in Elizabethtown. Police said Michael Hinton was under the influence when he slammed his pickup into Brianna Taylor's Ford Mustang.
Neighbors and parishioners are now rallying behind a family hit by such tragedy in such a short amount of time.
Michael Hinton, the man police say is responsible for killing a Brianna Taylor, is charged with murder and DUI. Police said they found a cooler and cans of beer at the scene of that crash.
