(WHAS11) - A Kentucky man has been arrested on charges that he locked his girlfriend's 4-year-old child in a dog cage.
The investigation started in Bullitt County but David Petty was arrested in Edmonson County, where he lived.
Petty is charged with criminal abuse.
There are also allegations that Petty beat the child with a wooden stick and locked him in that outdoor dog crate at night.
Police say the child has lived with his mother and the couple's three younger children for the past four years.
All of the children were taken from the home.
