CORYDON, Ind. (WHAS11) -- A short pursuit in Harrison County has landed a man in jail facing felony and misdemeanor charges.
Shortly after 3:00 a.m. Friday a trooper attempted to stop a pick-up truck on Gardner Lane in Corydon for a traffic violation.
When the trooper attempted to stop the vehicle it sped up and turned out its headlights in an attempt to evade the pursuing trooper. According to a news release, the vehicle then entered into an auto sales dealership on Gardner Lane and was traveling in between the rows of cars on the lot.
The vehicle exited the car lot back on to Gardner Lane, traveled a few hundred feet, and then left the roadway into a field, traveling a few more hundred feet before the driver fled the vehicle on foot.
George L. Kintner, 47, from Corydon was captured and placed under arrest for resisting law enforcement in a vehicle (felony) and operating while intoxicated (misdemeanor).
Kinter was incarcerated in the Harrison County Jail.
No one was injured and there were no vehicles damaged during the pursuit.
