LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville man faces charges after his 2-year-old child is found wandering barefoot, outside alone, while the man was allegedly passed out on his bed.
It happened at the Ramada Inn on Zorn Avenue on Wednesday night, Jan. 8. Police say Andrew Denham was arrested after police found him asleep, surrounded by bottles of vodka.
They say his 2-year-old unlocked the door and wandered outside.
When the child couldn't get back into the room, the little girl started crying. That's when a man staying in a neighboring room--who doesn't want to be identified--took the child to the front desk and called 911.
“I get out of the shower and hear the little kid crying. I didn’t think much of it until it kept going and going. I opened my door and she's standing right here crying and crying," the anonymous man said.
The child is well and is now with her mother. Denham faces charges of wanton endangerment and endangering the welfare of a minor.
