Warnings from MSD officials say the Ohio River could flood.
Officials say the river could reach 21 feet high above the McAlpine lock and dam on Sunday.
Flood stage is 23 feet.
MSD officials have already placed flood pumping plants at strategic points along the river.
If changes occur in the river forecast, officials could add plants and close low-level streets.
MSD says with river flooding, they have to stay prepared.
Bud Schardein of MSD said, “The biggest mistake you can make with river flooding is have the system, the flood protection system, but be lax in how you operate it or bring it up to service.”
Officials say the change in flood levels comes from rain and melting snow as far away as New York state.
