(WHAS11)—According to a new study out by Transportation for America Louisville is the seventh most dangerous place for pedestrians.
The study includes a 13 county area ranging from Nelson County, Ky. to Scott County, Ind.
Information from the study shows 48 pedestrians were killed in 2007 and 2008 in the Louisville area and those deaths account for approximately 14 percent of all traffic deaths.
Some of the more recent accidents involving pedestrians also involved TARC buses.
In September 2008 two people were hit in separate incidents by TARC buses in the same week. One of the pedestrians, a man, was critically injured. The other left a woman with non life threatening injuries.
