LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man who they said left the scene of an accident involving an overturned car.
According to the police report, Jesse Jones pulled out of a side street on Dixie Highway and struck the vehicle being operated by Teress Williams. Williams' vehicle overturned and trapped one of the three occupants in the car.
After hitting her car, police said Jones drove off and left the injured victims. He then lost control of his car and drove through several yards before getting stuck in a yard on Paramount Drive. Jones then fled on foot, but a witness followed him and was able to obtain the license plate number of his vehicle, which led to his arrest.
All three victims were injured in the accident. The injuries varied from cuts to the hands to an esophagus injury which the report indicated could have been fatal if it had not been treated quickly.
Jesse Jones is now facing Criminal Mischief and Leaving the Scene of an Accident charges and Failure to Render Aid.
