LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Hundreds filled East Market Street for the 4th annual NuLu Festival.

Business owners in the area say the revitalization over the past few years has been more than they could have ever imagined.

“They don’t realize how much even the past year how much has changed. I really don’t think anybody ever truly thought it would end up what it has became, but we are all really glad that it has,” said Peace of the Earth Owner Leslies Bowers.

More than 60 vendors were at the festival along with local musicians, “everybody’s coming out and having a good time. You know socializing and learning about everybody’s booth,” said festival-goer Dominic James.

Bowers said the festival serves as a tool to show people how much change has come to the area.

“The festival gets them down here, and then they see it and they want to come back and explore it later on.”
