LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The start of the University of Louisville and the University of Kentucky football seasons is just three days away, and everyone from the players to the fans, business owners and police officers are getting ready. Sgt. Mike Minniear says "We are expecting a lot more people, so expect big delays getting to the game and big delays leaving the game. We're going to have more officers out there."
However, this year there is a change. Once inside the stadium gates, fans aren't allowed to smoke, and outside the stadium, after being closed for nearly two years, the longtime UofL bar, Tailgaters, is back open and ready for the start of the season. University of Louisville's River City Alumni Club is teaming up with Tailgaters Bar & Grill to host the Ultimate Cards Fan Video Contest. To learn more about it click on the related link.
Fans are excited. Matt Bishoff says, “It's great to be able to walk and have all kind of great stuff going on around school." And in just a few days, that's exactly what they'll have.
