LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Would you like ashes with your ice cream?

Wednesday you can get just that at the Comfy Cow store in Westport Village. St. Thomas Episcopal Church is taking Ash Wednesday to the community.

Church members will be offering "ashes to go" to mark the beginning of Lent after their traditional Ash Wednesday midday service at the church.

Members said they want to reach more people by bringing the ashes to them.

“This has been done in other places in the country they say it's usually well received and we're excited we see it has a mutual blessing and meeting,” Rev. Anne Vouga, St. Thomas Episcopal Church, said.

Church representatives will also be at the Kroger in Westport Plaza.
