LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Power has been restored at Louisville Metro Corrections in Downtown Louisville. It returned around 11 Sunday night.
Captain William Ashby says a transformer went out at roughly 6 p.m. Sunday.
All computers and elevators were temporarily down and unusable despite having a generator to offer some relief.
This outage briefly affected inmate release because they did not have access to their computer systems. All inmates had to stay in their cells until the power was restored.
