LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The Louisville Metro Department of Animal Services is seeking the public's help in solving a serious case of animal cruelty.

Following an anonymous call to the Louisville Metro Department of Animal Services (LMAS) Friday afternoon, officers found a cat in the Roses Department Store parking lot in the 3200 block of Crums Lane.

The brown and black cat suffered severe injuries including major head trauma and broken hind legs.  The extent of the injuries made it impossible to determine the gender of the cat.

Investigators are calling the cat’s death suspicious and are asking anyone with information to call LMAS at (502) 363-6609.
